Description
Theme Overview:
"This Is Home" - What does home mean to you? Is it a place, a feeling, a memory, or a state of belonging?
The Palette of Roses Art League (Host) and Gallery Main Street (Venue) invite artists to submit work for “This Is Home,” a juried exhibition exploring the many ways we define, create, and carry home. Whether rooted in a physical space, a cultural tradition, a relationship, or a moment in time, home can be both deeply personal and universally understood.
Through this exhibition, we seek works that examine the layers of belonging — the comfort and complexity, the nostalgia and transformation. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly: home as architecture or landscape, as body or memory, as community or identity.
Concepts to Consider
- What does home look, sound, or feel like?
How do migration, memory, or change shape our sense of home?
In what ways can home be both sanctuary and limitation?
Can home exist in language, tradition, or connection rather than place?
This exhibition aims to present a diverse and thought-provoking collection of works that together tell a story of what home means today — especially in a world marked by movement, cultural intersections, and redefined belonging.
About the Venue
Located in the heart of downtown Tyler, Gallery Main Street is a premier exhibition space operated by the City of Tyler’s Main Street Program. The gallery showcases rotating exhibits featuring regional and national artists, serving as a cultural hub for the East Texas art community at 110 W Erwin Street, Tyler, Texas 75702.
